Year One: 1st. Year Two: 2.1. Year 3: Expected 2.1. A wide range of skills have been acquired and developed during the course. The use of computers and quantitative analysis, a particular interest has been developed in the anthropogenic impact on marine systems, with modules taken such as Exploitation of the Sea and Marine Vertebrate Conservation. Another interest lies in how the behaviour of animals can be so inextricably linked with the environment they inhabit through studying modules such as Behavioural Ecology and Behavioural Ecology and Information use. A range of transferable skills such as Communication, Organisation, Time Management, Independent work have been shown throughout.

Relevant Experience
Volunteer at the National Seal Sanctuary September 2013
Worked with the animal care team and gained and developed skills in: fish preparation, feeding the residents, enrichment activities, cleaning, laying out medication and communication, because team work was extremely important for the success of the team. Plus, being able to answer the public’s questions and enriching their experience also so that they know more about the animals there and any conservation issues. Here I showed hard-work, reliability and capability in the tasks given to me.
Volunteer at AK Wildlife Cruises 2012-2013
Duties include crewing on the boat as well as interacting with the clients of all ages and talking to them about the species they are seeing, and what issues they are facing.
Volunteer at Falmouth Aquarium 2012-2013
Falmouth aquarium has an aim of educating the public about the marine challenges we are facing as well as inspiring young children to become more aware of the natural environment. Under this role I have undertaken chemical tests to determine water quality as well as feeding the species we have at the aquarium this requires me to communicate well with the other volunteers, staff and public as well as showing my own initiative when working independently. Experience of covering for staff, and the handling of cash has occurred as a result.
Team member responsible for running and coordinating singing workshops, singing days and singing residentials. 2008- present
Involved in the planning and running of successful singing days, working as a team to ensure the day runs without error, involved in teaching and leading songs as well as ensuring the welfare of the children at all times. Other responsibilities include being part of a team that plans the residential, contributing to song repertoire, the teaching whilst there, leading teams in housework, but also helping people learn parts. Presently a member of the kitchen team that is responsible for the preparation and cooking of food, clearing up in the kitchen afterwards.
Work experience at Wick Court Farm, Gloucester 2008
This is a farm specifically aimed at educating children from cities about farming and getting back in touch with nature. As well as working on the farm, with the adults, the children and the animals which shows adaptability, assisted in the shop as well as cleaning the house ready for the next group of children.
Volunteer work at PDSA Charity Shop 2007
Responsible for checking through stock and organising stock on the shop floor, communicating well with the manager and working well as part of a team with the other volunteers.
